Under supervision and according to established procedures, is responsible for the safe operation of a variety of equipment related to the upkeep of the golf course. Provides input into course construction plans and mowing and irrigation schedules. Oversees and assists temporary part time employees on assigned work projects.
Education: The job requires a level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma program.
Experience: Knowledge of the game of golf as well as tools and equipment used in the maintenance of the golf course is desired. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Possession of a Commercial Applicators license is desired but not required. The applicant must have a minimum of at least three years of work experience in a golf course, turf maintenance, or related field. If an applicant has an associate degree/or a minimum of 2 years of completed course work, in an agronomy or related educational degree, then one year of similar experience is adequate.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate work assignments and to interact with citizens.
Working Conditions: Works outside in all weather conditions. The job requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 80 lbs., as well as manual work duties. Exposed to a variety of chemicals.
