    Working with little direct supervision, plan, organize, and conduct a softball/baseball program, including scheduling, recruiting volunteer coaches, distributing equipment, and scheduling umpires.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Conduct planning and training sessions with staff.
    2. Organize and implement a set plan for the program.
    3. Define equipment needs and ensure that it is ready at the start of the program.
    4. Offer assistance to staff and participants to ensure that the program goals are being met.
    5. Submit reports and paperwork in a timely manner, including a program evaluation and recommendations at the conclusion of the program.
    6. Collect, inventory, and store all equipment at the conclusion of the program.
    7. Interact with coaches, parents, and umpires in handling problems and report major concerns to their supervisor.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of three years of college with a field of interest in Physical Education, Recreation, or a closely related field.  First Aid Certification is required and needs to be attained prior to start.

     

    EXPERIENCE: Three to six months previous leadership experience in Recreation, Physical Education, or a closely related field.

     

    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Job requires effective communication skills.  Must be perceptive and persuasive in dealing with the public, training staff, etc.

     

    ANALYTICAL ABILITY: Requires non-routine and non-recurring analysis skills.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Job requires the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
